How those “very same” LEGO pieces appeared
In fact, the LEGO “bricks” were not invented by Christiansen at all, and not even at LEGO. The concept originated with Hilary Fisher Page, a child psychologist from England. They were also released by the British from Kiddicraft.

The search for the optimal plastic continued for another five years (cellulose acetate was replaced with ABS plastic), but the basis of the design remained unchanged.
Since then and to this day, the brick standard has remained unchanged. As a result, the newest sets like LEGO Marvel, LEGO Avengers, or LEGO Star Wars easily connect with classics like the “House with Garage” from 1958. The precision of the molds for stamping the pieces is 10 microns, and of the bricks themselves up to 2 thousandths of a millimeter.
